The Sledge: Extended Paul Reiffel Interview

Jonathan Howcroft (BackPageLead.com.au) interviews Paul Reiffel, the former Australian cricketer who played in 35 Tests and 92 ODIs from 1992 to 1999. He was part of Australia’s victorious 1999 World Cup team, and captained Victoria until his retirement from state cricket. After retirement he became an international cricket umpire.

Paul tells Jono about his experiences moving from playing cricket to umpiring cricket; his thoughts on the Decision Review System; umpiring Sachin Tendulkar’s hundredth hundred; and how highly he thinks of “his clubs” – Australia, Victoria, and Richmond in Victoria’s Premier District competition.
